Miami, Florida

Magnum Marine in Miami, Florida has just launched the fastest and largest high-performance yacht:  the Magnum 80' designed by Pininfarina.

The famous author, Tom Wolfe, who was aboard this new Magnum model, writes "I thought I was looking at the X-15"  The Magnum 80' "had the same look of we'll crush- you power that made the question of beauty seem irrelevant.   The difference was, the X-15 didn't have a sybaritic three-terrace open deck out back of the cockpit."

The new Magnum 80' is equipped with twin 2400 HP MTU diesels coupled to Arneson surface drives for a top speed of about 60 MPH.  Not only is the speed impressive but , also because of the deep-V of the hull that cuts through the waves like a knife, the new Magnum 80' provides a smooth, comfortable and quiet ride even in adverse sea conditions. No other performance yacht gives such a comfortable ride.

Interiors are, of course, very spacious and can accommodate up to four double cabins.  Since Magnum Marine custom designs the interiors for each client, interiors will vary in style and number of cabins. The owner of this new model requested a minimalist interior mainly in teak, with large open spaces and only two VIP cabins with, of course, the usual heads, living and dining areas and crew accommodations.  Interiors were built in Italy and installed at Magnum Marine.

Also, under construction at Magnum Marine is a new Magnum 70' designed by Italian architects Lazzarini & Pickering, and a new Magnum 50' model.  Both models can be seen in phase of construction at the factory and will be ready to be launched this summer.
